Description
Description
The M (Magnitude) has garnered overwhelming support from countless bassists, both professional and amateur, especially those dedicated to slap playing. It's not just Atelier Z's flagship model, it's also arguably the most representative model of Japanese-made active basses, a model beloved by bassists for many years. Based on the style of the '70s JB bass, it incorporates Atelier Z's unique ideas throughout, and its attention to detail, crafted with bassists in mind, is the secret to its popularity. This model is the M#265, a 5-string model based on the M#245 model, with a 34-inch neck and 18mm string spacing.
The body is crafted from solid ash. The body design, reflecting feedback from the field, incorporates an asymmetrical JB shape with a smoother profile on the control panel, minimizing slippage and tipping when placed on a stand. This model features a one-piece maple neck for an open resonance, complete with cell-wrapped strings and block position markers. The original bridge, modeled after the legendary Badass bridge, delivers ample sustain and a rich attack. The 3mm clear pickguard narrows the gap between the strings and the pickguard, and, combined with the half-cut pickup fence, provides stability when thumbing and pulling during slapping. The Tuning Z System, with its moderate tension and low string height, provides smooth playability. Player-friendly specifications and meticulous adjustments throughout are the secrets to this long-selling instrument.
Even in a low-action setting, the bass delivers a solid, resilient sound that stands out in a variety of ensembles and genres. The preamp is the renowned Bartolini/XTCT, fully utilizing the rich resonance of the bass itself while allowing for even more aggressive sound creation. Active use produces a wide variety of sounds, from a deep, rock-like bass to a booming slap sound with the EQ turned up. The instrument itself also boasts a rich, mellow sound, producing a resilient, harmonically rich bass even in passive mode, making it a perfect fit for a variety of playing styles and musical genres.
This model's specifications have been upgraded from the previous 2-volume design to a Master Volume and Balancer for smoother control, resulting in a Master Volume/Master Tone (Stack), Balancer, Treble, and Bass (Pull/Passive) control system. Additionally, a new battery storage cavity has been added to the back of the body, further enhancing ease of use. The distinctive sound is instantly recognizable, and the strict quality control ensures the peace of mind you can only get from a bass made in our workshop, which is one of the reasons why so many bassists are captivated by this authentic model. Don't miss this opportunity to own one of these authentic models, which will make a statement on stage or in the recording studio.
