Description

The Telecaster debuted as the Broadcaster in 1950 and has since reigned alongside the Stratocaster as a signature Fender guitar model. It's a classic electric guitar, with not only Fender's original model but also models inspired by it being produced by various manufacturers.

The Custom Telecaster was released in 1959 as a premium model of the regular Telecaster. It features an alder body, double binding on the top and back, and a sunburst finish.

The guitar we have in stock this time was shipped around 1966 and features a very rare laminated maple fingerboard for this style.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 3.4 kg. The body is made of alder. The sophisticated three-tone sunburst finish with a reddish-brown hue and double binding create a sophisticated look. There is weather checking appropriate for the model, traces of a tremolo unit once attached to the end of the body (the hole has since been filled), paint chipping, dents, and tarnished metal parts, mainly on the sides of the body, giving it a wonderful vintage guitar feel. Some of the bridge saddle screws have been replaced.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple. It features a maple neck with a maple fingerboard, commonly known as "laminated maple." The gold Transition logo and the words "CUSTOM TELECASTER" can be faintly seen on the headstock. There is some paint wear from the fingerboard to the headstock, giving it the same wonderful vintage guitar feel as the body. The tuners are slightly unevenly wound, but still function properly. The frets and nut were replaced in our shop, and playability is excellent. The headstock thickness is 16.7mm, and the nut width is 41.5mm. The neck profile is relatively sturdy. The smooth feel of the back of the neck, typical of a vintage guitar, is an appealing feature.

[Electrical system]
The controls are current-wired for pickup mix selection. No high-pass capacitor is used. The 3-way pickup selector (neck/mix/bridge), volume, and tone controls are included. The bridge (rear) pickup has been rewound and retuned in our shop. All other control parts remain in their original condition. The guitar's greatest appeal is its excellent tone, with a rich, natural sound with depth, a warm, clear, and well-defined neck position, and a bridge (rear) position with excellent harmonic presence, speed, and thickness.
