Description

Momose Equipment Souvenir series now in stock! Order a black acrylic pickguard at Ikebe!

The Momose brand has launched a limited edition lineup called "EQS (Equipement Souvenir)" with the hope that it will become a treasured instrument for anyone who picks up the instrument.
"Souvenir," which translates to "souvenir" in English, also means "memory" or "recollections" in French. This lineup is based on these words, and we have created special models that, when you see, touch, and listen to the models, will evoke the precious memories that have been formed around them.

This guitar uses sassafras wood for the body. While ash is now the most commonly used wood for guitar bodies, sassafras has been considered a standard material throughout the history of guitars. While its sound is similar to ash, it is characterized by a softer mid-low range.
The fingerboard is made of New Jacaranda, and the JB sound is tight and firm. While inheriting the basic structure of the vintage JB, such as the original body shape with a wide cutaway and wood binding on the neck, more modern updates have been incorporated throughout, elevating it to a unique style.

This guitar inherits the basic structure of the vintage JB, pursuing traditional resonance and tone. It also further advances customization with an emphasis on modern playability, and is based on Momose's core philosophy of "processing each material according to its individual differences in mass, elasticity, resonance, etc." It pursues the possibilities of vintage style through completely handcrafted construction. This guitar has been perfected, elevating its overall quality to a unique, original style.

The body shape features a slightly wider cutaway for smooth shifting to higher positions and improved playability. The headstock shape is striking yet retains a classic feel. The adjustment section retains its original design, allowing for instantaneous setup, but its shape has been revised for even more stress-free adjustment. The semi-matte, ultra-thin top lacquer creates a smooth playing feel, and the neck shape, finished with meticulous sanding, has been further refined for a comfortable grip.

The 210-radius fingerboard eliminates choking in the upper registers, while the medium-sized, slightly tall JESCAR FW-NS9676-NS frets (equivalent to Jim Dunlop USA #6105) ensure precise fingering. The fret tangs are covered with a wood binding of the same material as the fingerboard, providing a smoother neck grip and preventing burrs from developing under harsh conditions. The neck joint retains the traditional technique of using a joint plate, but features a recessed groove and a unique heel cut for improved playability. The joint plate is made of high-density material for optimal sound quality. The VJ-1 pickup, highly acclaimed by many players for its ability to bring out the natural tone of the wood, is also included as standard.

This is a limited production model, so don't miss out!
