Description
Description
The '59 Les Paul is the most popular and top-of-the-line model in the Gibson Custom Shop Historic Collection. This exquisite guitar boasts a beautiful flame maple top that would look right at the cover of a Les Paul book. It was manufactured in 2012. While a pickguard is included, it has been omitted due to the beautiful grain.
We have a recommended used Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue in stock!
This guitar was made in 2012, the final year of refinements that began in 2009, the 50th anniversary of the birth of the 1959 Les Paul. The refinements, including the adoption of a non-wired bridge, the relative positioning of the tailpiece and controls, the position of the rear pickup and the size of the pickguard relative to it, the use of negative-head pickguard stay screws, and a change to the nut material, all reflect the depth of Gibson Custom Shop's passion for refinement at the time.
In 2013, new refinements were made, including the adoption of Custom Buckers, Tubeless truss rods, and the use of hide glue (animal glue) on the neck joint, which continue to this day.
Of particular note is the beautiful flame maple top! The grain is so exquisite it could be featured on the cover of a Les Paul book! This kind of grain is hard to find, even if you go to the local shop and hand-select it!
A pickguard is included but is not attached and there are no holes drilled into it.
At Gibson Custom Shop, if the guitar has beautiful grain, the Gibson Custom Shop factory staff may choose to ship it without a pickguard, saying, "It looks cooler without a pickguard!"
It has a VOS finish that gives it a dignified look, and weighs in at a lightweight 3.75kg.
The color of the fingerboard is light, but this does not affect the sound at all.
The pickups are the classic Burstbucker Type 1 (R) & Type 2 (T) combination that was in use from 2003 to 2012! They offer a comfortable, vintage tone that defined an era of Les Paul sound. It's a great combination that gives you a sense of security while playing!
This time, we have a recommended used item in stock! It is made in 2012.
There are some small scratches, dents, paint dents, paint dullness, pulls, paint cracks on the frets in the binding on both sides, and some dullness on parts, but overall it's in pretty good condition! It's been fully serviced at our shop, so it's ready to play right away!
The frets have been filed and are ready to use. Approximately 85% of the guitar remains.
There is no problem with using the nut, and there is no problem with normal adjustment of the truss rod.
The electrical system has been fully checked and there are no problems with operation.
The included accessories are a brown hard case and a key. The brown case has been severely discolored, with the front and back showing signs of greenish discoloration, possibly due to storage issues. This does not affect transportation.
Other items include a certificate, pickguard and screws, Gibson Gold Warranty, and a serial number tag.
Don't miss this opportunity!
