Noble & Cooley, which manufactures its products in its factory in Granville, Massachusetts, is a long-established handmade manufacturer with over 150 years of history.
We are committed to the quality of materials and beautiful part designs, such as using the highest quality wood from the New England region, and have been providing unparalleled sound quality for many years.
This is one of Noble & Cooley's signature models, made from solid maple with solid maple reinforcement.
Its characteristic is its supple and delicate touch, which allows it to blend into the ensemble and music while responding sensitively to fine stick work.

This snare drum was the first steam-vented solid-shell drum of the modern era and has been used on countless recordings since its introduction in the early 1980s, solidifying the company's reputation as a leading manufacturer of the world's finest drums and continuing to be the choice of professional players today.
-SOLID SHELL-
Solid rock maple (or other domestic hardwoods) are hand-picked and subjected to the time-honored steam-bending process to ensure consistent grain. The single-ply shells vibrate more freely than commonly used multi-ply shells, giving the SS Classic its warmth and delicate touch.
-BEARING EDGE-
The bearing edge is the point of contact between the shell and the drumhead.
The precision of this bearing edge processing determines the tone and tunability of the drum.
Noble & Cooley edges are lathed for maximum resonance and projection.
Precision machined to within ten-thousandths of an inch, the bearing edges are hand-cut and checked twice on a machinist-grade granite plane. This precision ensures consistent pitch and tuning range.
-NODAL POINT LUG MOUNTING-
Noble Point Technology is a proprietary patent of Noble & Cooley.
By placing the lug posts at the nodal points of the shell's natural wavelength, the vibrations that create its tone are not affected by the mass of the lug - the shell itself contributes to the drum's ultimate tone.
