Description
Description
MBC (Master Builder Collection)
Each year, a concept is decided and the Mayones craftsmen bring together their supreme skills and ideas to create the most unique and special Mayones model. Basically, each model is produced in a limited number provided by Mayones, making it a very rare, one-of-a-kind model.
Our store has not received any models since the MBC 2017 series, and this series is as difficult to obtain as anniversary models produced to commemorate anniversaries.
This newly arrived model, the "Regius BT," is the first Regius model to feature a bolt-on joint, as the "BT" in the model name suggests. This bolt-on design produces a tone unique to bolt-on guitars, such as improved attack response and a crisp sound, giving it a character that is different from traditional neck-through construction.
Unlike the standard Regius model, the neck is a 5-ply wenge and purpleheart neck, similar to that used in Duvell models. It is also very rare to see a 5-ply neck on a Regius model, and it appears that the aim was to reduce the number of laminates in the neck to bring out the characteristics of the bolt-on, making it easier for the neck to resonate naturally.
The body is made of swamp ash, just like the regular Regius model, but thanks to the bolt-on structure, the entire back of the body is made of the same material, which allows the ash's more distinct and clear tone to be reflected in the sound.
The neck and back of the body have a matte finish, giving the guitar a smooth, matte texture and a direct picking feel.
The pickups are the newly adopted Mayones Velvetrone series "Ironside" and "Solium" pickups. The bridge pickup features the high-gain "Ironside" with its fast attack response, while the neck pickup features the "Solium" with its excellent balance, producing soulful leads and silky clean sounds. These two genuine pickups deliver a unique Mayones sound.
The controls are simple, consisting of only a volume and pickup selector. A new feature from the 2024 model is that the push/pull volume and 3-way selector for the coil tap function has been removed, and the switch is now a 5-way slide switch with built-in coil tap wiring. By changing the position of the switch lever, you can select either the inner or outer coil to be used when coil tapping, allowing you to change the nuances of the sound.
In addition, the control knobs, pegs, back panel, etc. are exclusive to this model, creating a special feeling that is unique to it.
This is a one-off production from the MBC series, and this is the only bolt-on version of the Regius model available. Unless it's produced in limited quantities like this one, or added to the regular lineup, it will be a very rare model that will be unavailable in the future.
Due to the nature of the series, which involves producing one-of-a-kind concept models, the price will be high, but the chances of obtaining an MBC model are extremely rare, so if you're interested, please consider purchasing one as soon as possible.
