Mel Taylor Signature Snare Drum


This signature snare drum features an all-maple shell with a unique edge shape, and is based on the sound of vintage Gretsch drums, with Mel Taylor's own personal touch. Its distinctive features include a comfortable rim shot, short sustain, and tight projection. The drum used by Mel wasn't a prototype, but a commercially available drum kit with the exact same specifications, allowing for a faithful reproduction of the original sound, which is one of the reasons for its popularity. Its ease of use has earned it a following not only among Ventures fans, but also among a wide audience.

It is the best snare drum that I have ever used. The tone quality is great, the hardware is excellent. Not only is the tone great, but it has a lot of volume, and is clean & clear. I used it for the first time this month in the studio, and everyone remarked how great it sounded.

Many products are stocked across Ikebe stores in Japan. As a result, shipment may take several days. In-store sales may also cause items to sell out. If an item is unavailable, we will contact you promptly; in that case, the order will be canceled and any payment will be refunded.

■ Shipping

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.
