Description
Description
Designed to be compatible with modern instruments, it aims to reproduce the vintage sound of MC Gregory mouthpieces.
It's neither too heavy nor too bright, providing a comfortable sound. Its delicate, soft subtones, based on the Paul Desmond sound, shine through, and it offers excellent response and control. While the opening is narrow, the high-frequency range offers plenty of extension, making it a versatile model for exploring a variety of playing styles.
[Comment from Development Advisor Hiroshi Kanno]
During World War II, there was a young man who belonged to the American military band.
Paul Emil Breitenfeld
He was weighing his dreams of becoming a musician or a writer.
In 1946, after the end of the war, he was still unknown at the age of 21, but he was so determined to achieve his dream that he even changed his own name.
This happened as he was establishing his own unique self.
The name that would later have a great influence on jazz history was
Paul Desmond
His favorite mouthpiece was the MC Gregory.
The 46 in the newly created mouthpiece, Model 46, comes from the year he changed his name.
This is a masterpiece designed to be able to reproduce that sweet tone even with modern instruments.
I sincerely hope that this Model 46 will be used to create new music that inherits the tone and spirit of Paul Desmond.
Yes, along with the courage it took for him to change his name!
