------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Varita Custom Guitars were created by studio musicians who demand a variety of playing styles and sounds!
In addition to the basic design of the USA-made Soltar, this Made in Japan model has been fully supervised by Shozo Shimura, who has maintained and set up guitars for famous guitarists such as Masaki Matsubara and Tsuyoshi Kon, and has the detailed nuances and sound that guitarists desire.
This is a simple 5053 model with an alder body. The basic construction is bolt-on, with a well-defined maple neck and high-quality rosewood fingerboard.
The neck grip features a slim, smooth shape that's comfortable for chord and lead playing. The frets are medium-sized, with 22 frets and a flat 10R fingerboard radius. The neck is handmade in the USA, maintaining Soltar's standard width, thickness, and shape.
The neck and body joint is heel-cut at a slant, and the back of the cutaway on the 1st string side is similarly deep, providing excellent playability in the upper register regardless of the situation. The neck pocket, pickup cavity, etc. have also been reduced to the bare minimum, and the structure has been carefully calculated and designed to withstand long periods of playing.
The hardware is also professionally designed with great attention to detail!
The machine heads do not use string guides, and Gotoh Magnum Lock tuning machines are used, with staggered posts that lower the height of the posts from string 6 to string 1. This allows you to keep the strings in the same condition every time you change them, and also improves tuning stability.
The bridge is a Wilkinson VS-100, a familiar choice for custom guitars. Its two-point support structure not only provides smooth arm movement and stable tuning, but also provides a fat tone with a unique saddle shape, resulting in excellent sustain.
The handcrafted wood materials, made from carefully selected wood, and the carefully selected hardware create a superb sound that is simply impressive. Even when playing bare-bones, the sound of the strings bouncing off the neck creates a wonderful sound that is truly inspiring.
The Raw Vintage RV5760NA (Alnico 2) and RV5661NA (Alnico 5) pickups deliver that incredible resonance to your amp. They're not only reminiscent of vintage pickups, but also respond sensitively to picking, faithfully reproducing the nuances of your fingering.
The sound is well-defined and has excellent sound separation, and even when distorted, the core remains strong and doesn't get crushed. The warm sound and the brightness and sustain of the sound due to picking nuances are superb and are effective even with coil tapping.
In addition to the 5-way switch, the tone knob also activates the front and rear, adding two additional positions: front & middle & rear and front & rear. The front & rear mixed sound is also useful for recording, and it's a tone you'll want to play forever. Its appealing features include a natural limiter-like attack and a clear sound with a completely different granularity.
The volume pot is made by CTS, and its robust carbon element structure provides outstanding durability, while the addition of two more contact points (versus the standard five) reduces loss.
The capacitors used are Dilectron capacitors, which cut out unnecessary overtones and produce a pleasant sound that doesn't get lost in an ensemble.
The setup, designed by Shozo Shimura, who has provided the setups desired by guitarists who have supported the music scene, not only provides smooth fingering and a comfortable playing feel, but also brings out the guitar's original sound.
Even if you set it up to your liking, there's no doubt that it will be a satisfying guitar because of its high original potential.
The Varita Soltar 5053 is not just a technical design, but also boasts performance beyond its surface, including noise suppression sufficient for professional guitarists on stage and in the studio, and a forged body and neck. Add it to your main guitar collection. It's perfect for a variety of musical situations, from studios to live performances, and any professional setting.
To borrow the words of Mr. Shimura, who has set up the guitars of many professional guitarists, this is a masterpiece with definite "fighting power."
