～D-28 Authentic 1937 Guatemalan Aged￥～
This is the ultimate reissue model, a 1937 D-28 reproduced by the skilled craftsmen of the Martin Custom Shop.
The top is made of VTS-treated Adirondack spruce, and the back and sides are made of Guatemalan rosewood, which has acoustic properties similar to Jacaranda.
In order to reproduce the sound of that time, measurements were taken from the original 1937 model owned by the Martin Museum, and the design was faithfully produced based on documents from that time.
The hand-scalloped forward shift bracing exclusive to the 1937 Authentic, the hide glue, neck shape, painted pickguard, and the thickness of the headstock, fingerboard, and bridge are all perfectly reproduced.
It features a vintage finish that recreates the unique texture of a deteriorated lacquer finish, and an aged finish that recreates weather checking and dents, giving it the feel of a real vintage piece that has been used for many years.
The sound is both powerful and delicate. The forward shift bracing allows this guitar to "sound from the moment you touch it," but the exquisite hand-scalloping technique prevents saturation even with strong inputs, giving you the thick, solid sound you expect from a D-28. Perhaps due to the VTS processing and aging process, it has a mellow, vintage feel even when new.
