Description
Description
Thicker than the JB, with better sound projection than the PB. Known for its Leo Fender design, the Music Man StingRay is a quintessential active bass with a strong heritage. With its quarter-pound humbucker pickups, it's a staple active bass in any genre, from punk rock to pop. This special model builds on the legendary StingRay bass with a more refined design and specs, while also being lighter.
Since its introduction in 1976, the Stingray has enjoyed worldwide acclaim. While retaining the classic design of the original, the Stingray Special has undergone thorough revisions to its specifications, offering a more refined design, improved playability, and a perfect fit for today's discerning players. The neck is crafted from carefully selected roasted maple, and the frets are made of durable stainless steel. This model also features a rosewood fingerboard, producing a crisp, harmonically rich sound. The neck joint also features a 5-bolt sculpted joint, allowing for easy access to the upper registers.
This bass features a crisp, open, powerful, and bold sound. If you're looking for the funky low end that Louis Johnson, Flea, and countless others have played so hard, this bass is a must-have. Its rugged, punchy, and tight tone retains the instrument's characteristic rustic character and openness, and the more you play, the more it responds to your every move. This model also features a newly designed, powerful neodymium pickup, and a newly designed 18-volt, 3-band EQ and preamp with ample headroom, delivering everything from modern punch to vintage tones. The signature quarter-pound humbucker delivers a powerful, clear, and expressive sound, with powerful lows and a pronounced midrange, creating a unique character unmatched by any other bass. This captivating sound is the true joy of this bass.
This model is available only in Japan, and features the popular white and black pickguard combination, reminiscent of famous works that have been adapted into popular live-action films, anime, and manga.
