Description

PH-IX (Nine) is made with carefully selected Claro Walnut.

TUNE, a long-established Japanese component manufacturer favored by countless bassists, is the brand behind Phoenix, a custom-made bass guitar. Starting with the PH-II, which could be called the original Japanese high-end model, the ambitious 33-inch PH-III, the PH-IV with its set-neck design, the PH-VII, which expanded its sonic options with its bolt-on design, and the increasingly rare PH-V&VI, a neck-through design that further refines the TWX lineage. The brand was created based on a request from Yoshihiro Naruse, an inseparable member of the brand, who expressed his desire to "express these opposing sounds simultaneously: a thick, crisp mid-low range and crisp highs." The newly arrived PH-IX continues this tradition, crafted with meticulous attention to both appearance and sound.

This newly arrived model is a 4-string guitar crafted from Claro walnut with a beautiful radial grain on the body and headstock. While the original model featured a multi-layer laminate body, this model features a simple alder back, further enhancing its value and value for money. It boasts a robust three-piece maple neck-through construction, an ebony fingerboard, versatile series/parallel/coil tap controls for each pickup, and the renowned low-noise GZP-2 circuit, all of which contribute to a rich, luxurious sound.

The alder wood's characteristically bouncy, firm mid-low range complements the crisp, crisp highs of walnut and the crisp, tight lows for a rich, deep bass output. Its clear attack and sensitivity allow it to accurately reproduce every nuance of your touch, down to the finest details. The tonal balance and clarity are exceptionally well-balanced from low to high frets, providing a stable sound quality that's a unique advantage of this instrument. Its elegant tone, with a sensual quality, creates a beautiful sound that will have you wanting to play solos or lead guitars.

Another feature is the high level of playability achieved through an elaborate setup that makes full use of PLEK. With some of the most satisfying specs among Japanese basses, professional-grade sound, and a unique presence, this is another instrument worth paying attention to.

This bass is set up with a Plek Setup on the 12th fret, with the string height set to 1.7mm on the 1st string and 2.0mm on the 5th string.
