FRIEDMAN IR-D Dual Tube Preamp (Friedman)

The IR-D DUAL TUBE PREAMP (hereafter referred to as IR-D) is based on the legendary vintage amp sound of the JTM45", which is synonymous with British sound, but Dave Friedman has made some adjustments to the circuit to allow for flexible operation, resulting in an organic, rich sound and response reminiscent of Friedman Amp's traditional "Dirty Shirley" and "Twin Sister" head amps, all in a compact, floor-standing size.It is a dual tube preamp with completely independent two-channel specifications and independent "BOOST" functions for each channel.
The authentic Friedman Amp sound achieved by operating the two pre-tubes (12AX7) built into this unit at high voltage can be connected to the effect return or power amp of a guitar amp and output from a guitar cabinet, and you can also use the ``IR (Impulse Response)'' with a wide variety of 13 power amp simulations selected by Dave Friedman himself to directly connect to the PA system at a studio or live venue or to your home DAW environment.

■Floor-type tube preamp with two completely independent identical channels + boost function The IR-D, which consists of two identical channels, is a simple and exquisite single-channel amplifier among Friedman Amp's products.It is based on the design of the ``Twin Sister,'' a two-channel version of the ``Dirty Shirley,'' which is attractive for its natural overdrive sound that goes from the British clean crunch sound of the 1960s to the volume of an amplifier turned all the way up, but it also has independent BOOST functions for each channel, allowing you to set the boost volume and gain level for guitar solos.

■ Newly equipped with "2-Way Bright/Tight Switch" and "3-Way Gain Structure Switch" The "Bright/Tight Switch" installed on each channel and the "Gain Structure Switch" which allows you to switch the gain range in three stages provide guitarists with a wide variety of sounds and tones.

2-Way Bright/Tight Switch:
-Up position: The tightest sound mode with emphasis on low end and high mids
-Down position: Best sound mode for fat, single-coil guitars
3-Way Gain Structure Switch:
-Up position: The highest gain sound mode
-Center position: The lowest gain sound mode
-Down position: Medium gain sound mode

Low-latency "Cabinet IR (Impulse Response)"
The IR-D is equipped with an "IR Cabinet Simulation" function that combines power amp simulations (THUMP and PRESENCE) carefully selected by Dave Friedman to fully utilize the potential of the IR-D.
You can load three IRs per channel from 13 factory IRs and additional third-party IRs, allowing you to monitor high-quality sound like it was recorded with microphones in a studio via the headphone output or output it directly to a PA mixer or home DAW environment.

●Supports presets using the dedicated editor By using the dedicated editor "FRIEDMAN IR-D EDITOR" (compatible with Mac and Windows), which can be downloaded for free, you can set MIDI, each switch and power amp simulation, select IRs, and upload third-party IRs.
*THUMP and PRESENCE are only available when using BALANCED OUT and require operation from the editor.

High-quality effects loop (SEND/RETURN)
The effects loop on the rear panel of the IR-D can be used for connecting spatial effects as well as for the following purposes:

-SEND terminal: Connect the preamp sound without IR cabinet simulation to the return of a guitar amplifier or an external power amplifier.
-RETURN terminal: Connect to the output of an external effect/preamp and use only the power amp/IR cabinet simulation function.

MIDI operation support: Up to 128 presets can be saved on the unit itself or in the dedicated editor. They can also be recalled from an external MIDI controller and linked with a MIDI-compatible spatial multi-effect unit with a single action.
