The Alexander NY is a reed that embodies the soul of the late Michael Brecker, having been perfected after numerous prototypes, meeting his requests, and pursuing a reed that he was completely satisfied with.
This reed was perfected to achieve a consistent sound and playing feel from low to high registers. Although it's an American cut, it still has a core in the middle, giving it a bit of body. Because it's firm all the way to the tip, the sound doesn't become thin in the high registers, and you can play it with a clear, powerful sound in every register!
It also has good response to subtones, so you can rely on it for more subdued songs!
This is a reed that everyone should try, not just Brecker fans.
