This model is based on the metal signature model that David Sanborn completed after much trial and error with Aaron Drake, and is made from vintage resin, a material exclusive to Drake.
It also incorporates features of metal models, such as a three-stage angled baffle, a Medium Venturi Chamber design, and an ergonomic beak design.
The vintage resin material and slim shape make the mouthpiece extremely lightweight, producing Sanborn's high-baffle sound with excellent response and an outstanding playing feel.
It has a light, crisp, and powerful sound, but with some control it can also produce a warm sound. Recommended for R&B, funk, fusion, rock, and more.
Although it is a handmade signature model, one of its attractions is that it can be purchased at a lower price than the metal type.
