Description

Carefully selected consignment items (sales on behalf of customers)

Since its release in 1960, the Jazz Bass has been a staple of Fender's bass lineup alongside the Precision Bass, and continues to influence the music scene to this day. Numerous variations and reissues of the original, as well as models inspired by it by other companies, have been produced, establishing it as a solid standard for electric bass guitars.

This is a car that was shipped around 1968. Based on the specifications and the condition of each part, it appears that it was originally a Lake Placid Blue car built for demonstration purposes around 1966, which was repainted in Candy Apple Red and reconfigured for sale. This is a very interesting specification.

【body】
The overall weight is approximately 4.3 kg. The body is made of alder, and the original Lake Placid Blue has been repainted in Candy Apple Red, apparently for the "SALES" (stamped under the pickguard and on the neck pocket). While there are differences in the aging of hidden parts such as the bridge cover, the overall beautiful Candy Apple Red color is appealing. There is minor weather checking, dents and touch-up marks, sticker marks, and tarnished parts, giving the bass a lovely, vintage feel. The metal covers are missing.

【neck】
The neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. The matching headstock is a beautiful candy apple red, just like the body. There are dents and accompanying touch-up marks around the headstock, as well as a dent near the back of the first fret, but the guitar is in relatively good condition. The tuners are a little stiff but still function well. The frets have been filed and adjusted, providing excellent playability. The headstock thickness is 15.0mm. The nut width is 38.3mm. Despite its narrow A-neck design, the neck profile is sturdy and thick.

[Electrical system]
The controls are standard jazz bass wiring (2 volume/1 tone). The pickups and other components are in pristine condition. The overall tone is more balanced than in the early '60s, with excellent pick response and a wide range of tones, from the deep low-mids typical of an alder body to a crisp, sharp tone.
