Premium Neumann-quality audio interface with intuitive touchscreen controls

Best-in-class AD/DA converters with wide dynamic range Intuitive touchscreen user interface DSP processing (EQ, dynamics, reverb)
4 independent mixers with built-in talkback USB, ADAT and AES67 connectivity

New benchmarks
The MT 48 is a no-compromise audio interface. It sets new standards for sound quality with its vast dynamic range, superior converters, preamps, and headphone amplifier. Built-in DSP power allows you to fine-tune your monitor mix with sophisticated EQ and dynamics processing, all intuitively controlled via the touchscreen.

Perfect Links
The MT 48 brings Neumann quality to your digital workflow. It's the first audio interface in its class to capture the full dynamic range of Neumann microphones, making it the perfect match for KH series studio monitors and Neumann headphones. The result is an ideal, unconstrained signal chain: from the microphone diaphragm to your ears, delivering uncompromising sound quality.

●Precise Swiss internal design
Developed in close collaboration with Swiss manufacturer Merging Technologies, the MT 48's high-precision AD converters operate with an astounding 136 dB dynamic range, giving the MT 48 four times the resolution of any audio interface in its class.

The MT 48 is fully equipped for a reference-class personal studio: two ultra-low-noise mic/line preamps with up to 78 dB of gain, two line/instrument inputs, four monitor/line outputs, and two premium headphone outputs, all with state-of-the-art AD/DA converters. MT 48's connectivity is expandable via ADAT/S/PDIF and AES67, and it also features an integrated MIDI interface. Four independent monitor mixes are controlled directly on the console via the touchscreen. Onboard processing includes a four-band fully parametric EQ, a three-way dynamics processor (gate/compressor/limiter) per channel, and a high-quality reverb. This allows musicians to obtain inspiring sound for their best performances, while ample DSP power remains available for future development.

● Apply effects, don't apply effects, or both!
The MT 48 is an audio interface and digital mixing desk all in one. Use the DSP processing only for monitoring, or add effects while recording. Or do both at the same time! The unique Dual Output Technology allows you to record wet and dry signals simultaneously through separate driver channels, so you can even get back an unprocessed backup if needed.

New user experience
Despite its vast range of features, the MT 48 is incredibly easy to operate. All settings can be made on the device itself via the built-in touchscreen. The perfect monitor mix is just a touch away! Adjust panpots, channel faders and more with your fingers, without having to switch to your computer's mixer software. The MT 48 can also operate standalone as a mixing console.

The MT 48 meets all your needs: top-tier audio quality, built-in DSP processing, comprehensive expandability and convenient touchscreen operation. The MT 48 is the missing piece in Neumann's ideal signal chain, connecting microphones, speakers and headphones to create the perfect studio.

New: Monitor Mission for mastering and immersive audio mixing
The MT 48's touchscreen user interface allows for flexible switching between dedicated "Mission" modes tailored to your application. The newly added Monitor Mission transforms the MT 48 into a comprehensive and highly flexible, cutting-edge monitor controller. It supports mono and stereo configurations, as well as all surround and immersive formats. This functionality includes precision trim and delay functions for correcting level and arrival time differences, as well as room correction with up to 24 bands of EQ for each output channel. Flexible bass management and downmixing are also supported.

During operation, you can easily manage speaker sets and headphone cues, mute or solo speakers, and smoothly switch between mono, stereo, surround, and immersive formats. Monitor Mission is the perfect tool for mixing and mastering, providing the flexibility you need today to ensure perfect sound across any media and playback environment.

New: MT 48 is now Dante Ready
The MT 48 has always supported the open network audio standard RAVENNA/AES67, but in response to user requests, it now also supports compatibility with the Dante protocol developed and managed by Audinate. Dante is widely used in live music and installation markets due to its ease of use and high compatibility.

Starting in Q4 2024 (May 29, 2025 in Japan), the MT 48 will be shipped as Dante Ready (a special sticker 0 will be affixed to the package).
The RAVENNA/AES67 firmware is pre-installed as before, but if you wish to operate with Dante, you can use the alternative Dante firmware provided free of charge by Neumann. In addition, you will need to purchase an 8x8 or 64x64 I/O Dante channel license from Audinate. This means that there is no additional cost for users who do not require Dante.

The MT 48 can now switch between conventional RAVENNA/AES67 and Dante audio networks.
To use the Dante audio network, you must install Dante Controller and purchase a Dante I/O channel license from Audinate.
If you don't need a Dante audio network, you can continue to use the pre-installed RAVENNA/AES67.
If you already own an MT 48 and would like to operate it with Dante Ready specifications, we can take your MT 48 and arrange for an upgrade for a fee.
For more information about Dante and Dante Ready for existing users, please see the Dante FAQs on the manufacturer's page.
