Description

Sound Transformer "Trumpet/Wah-Wah"

High Quality Sound
Co-developed by leading Japanese soloist Sogabe Kiyonori and Best Brass' Shinji Hamanaga.
The high-quality sound that satisfies professional performers is the result of meticulous design and complete handmade construction.
At Best Brass, we use the name Sound Transformer.

Material
The Sound Transformer (Trumpet/Wah-Wah) is made from three different materials: aluminum, copper, and brass.
The sound changes depending on the physical properties of each metal. Aluminum is a light and soft material, so it produces a light, bright and brilliant sound.
Copper has a high specific gravity and is relatively soft, resulting in a rich, dark sound.
Brass has a specific gravity similar to that of copper and is a sturdy material, so it is characterized by a bright, rich sound with a moderate weight.
The beautiful hairline finish on the surface makes it possible to produce a clearer, more brilliant sound.

Pitch
The so-called Harman mute (used with the wah-wah tube removed) produces a noticeable rise in pitch.
For a Bb trumpet, the main tuning slide needs to be pulled out about 15 to 25 mm more than when opened.
This means you will need to adjust the volume every time you turn it on and off during a song.
In fact, you may not have time to remove the main tuning slide and end up playing at a very high pitch. If you install a Best Brass Sound Transformer, it is designed to keep the pitch of the instrument the same as when it is open.

Intonation
Generally, even when tuned to the correct pitch, there is often variation in the pitch in the low and high ranges.
This is because the pitch was balanced when the bell was open, but by attaching something (a mute) to the tip of the bell, this good pitch balance was disrupted.
This is fine if you are just using the mute as a sound effect, but for professionals who make a living from performing music, a mute with poor tune is useless.
Try the Best Brass Sound Transformer.

Free Blowing
The Sound Transformer has passed the high-level blowing tests of experts, providing a natural blowing feel across the entire range.
Until now, there has been no instrument that can produce a rich sound in the low range. This is because the most difficult part of acoustic design is in the low range, but Best Brass has improved even these shortcomings.

Safety
Because wah-wah mutes are attached to the bell, traditional cork mutes often fall out during performance.
This will make it difficult to concentrate on playing, and the loud noise of the falling instrument will ruin the music itself.
Best Brass' Sound Transformer/Wah-Wah uses a special sponge to improve installation performance.
It is gentle on the bell and can be attached securely. This is a Best Brass sound transformer that has been carefully designed down to the smallest detail, with the aim of making everything musical.
