Shinya Star Cymbal
What Shinya looks for in a drum set is "a sense of separation of sounds." Cymbals are responsible for the high range of the drum sound, so the theme is a sharp and clear sound.
The starting point was, "I want to add a more beautiful sound (sustain) to the excellent attack of a hole cymbal!" This was the origin of Star Cymbals. Hole cymbals have now become established as a standard model, but one of their roots can be found in the O-ZONE crash released by SABIAN as part of the HHX EVOLUTION in the early 2000s. This was truly a collaboration between Shinya and SABIAN, the origins of the hole cymbal.
This time, Shinya came up with the innovative idea of shaping a small hole into a star shape, resulting in the creation of an ideal cymbal that combines clear definition (sound contours) with sustain. Furthermore, this star shape also creates a visual effect when used under stage lighting.

Crashes tend to be difficult to create a sound with miking, but by processing the holes in this Star Crash, we were able to clearly express the sound's contours and resonance, solving the problem. ☆Saya☆
