Description
Description
Gretsch Drums introduces the Keith Karlock signature snare drum.
Keith has long been a fan of brass shell snares, particularly those with aged shells. This signature model was developed to reflect this preference and to realize a sound that would meet the demands of Keith's diverse studio work.
After much trial and error, we settled on a 14" x 5.5" antique brass shell with a 45-degree bearing edge. Keith's preference was to improve dynamics and pitch range rather than a forward snare sound or attack, so we equipped the guitar with 20 snare wires and a Permatone Coated head as standard. The guitar features a 4mm thick Gretsch die-cast hoop and a Lightning Throw-off strainer. Due to the manufacturing and aging techniques used, each brass shell has a unique finish, color, luster, and overall appearance.
In addition to the USA serial label, the inside of the shell also has a signature label with the year of manufacture, giving it a special feel.
