The V BEAT is the most compact drum microphone in its class, ideal for use on snare and tom drums. It offers the same high-grade performance as the V7 X dynamic instrument microphone, but in a form factor specifically tailored for drum use. It's also useful for capturing sources like electric guitar speaker cabinets and brass instruments.
V BEAT's specialized capsule captures the sound characteristics of snares and toms of all sizes with exceptional detail and naturalness. Its excellent off-axis rejection minimizes bleed from other drums and cymbals. Its ultra-compact design, side-by-side XLR connectors, and stand mount provide the smallest footprint in its class, while its robust swivel mount allows for highly precise angle adjustment—meaning it can reach nearly any part of the drumhead, allowing you to achieve the sound characteristics you're looking for.
Compact, flexible, and minimalist design
The V BEAT features an extremely compact design, with the XLR connector and stand mount located side-by-side at the bottom of the flexible swivel mount. This minimizes the V BEAT's footprint, improves the aesthetics of the wiring, and eliminates the need for right-angle adapters or special cables. Cables are also prevented from interfering with the movement of cymbals or drumsticks, disrupting the drummer's performance.
V BEAT can be used with the separately sold V CLAMP for an even more compact and flexible setup.
The V CLAMP adds a vertical axis of movement, allowing you to firmly secure the V BEAT to the drum rim while achieving an even more ideal setting.
The heart of the V BEAT: the DMC7 X capsule. The custom-designed DMC7 X capsule features an innovative, special aluminum voice coil and shares the same technology and features as its acclaimed sibling, the V7. However, unlike the V7, which is optimized for vocals, the V BEAT capsule is tuned for instruments. Aluminum is significantly lighter than the industry-standard copper, delivering an open, transient-rich sound with deep, clear lows. The midrange is also exceptionally well-balanced, supporting the natural resonance of percussion instruments.
This sophisticated capsule has excellent off-axis rejection, effectively reducing bleed from surrounding sources such as other drums and cymbals, while its supercardioid pattern makes it easy to tailor the bottom end by adjusting the proximity effect - i.e., the distance from the drumhead.
The use of proven neodymium magnets, strict manufacturing tolerances and high-end finishing ensure excellent sensitivity, excellent sound quality and superior quality.
Unique patented built-in shock mount
V BEAT's advanced internal capsule suspension effectively isolates the capsule from mechanical vibrations, eliminating the need for an external shock mount.
Metal housing, steel mesh grille, gold-plated XLR connector
The V BEAT's enclosure is made entirely of metal—no plastic parts. The chassis is made of high-quality, durable zinc alloy, designed to withstand years of heavy use on stage. The steel mesh grille is dent- and rust-resistant for superior reliability, and the swivel mount holds the V BEAT securely at any angle.
Additionally, V BEAT's gold-plated XLR connectors ensure a reliable connection that transmits signals without loss.
●Internal windscreen Effectively reduces unwanted drafts and wind noise. A spare black windscreen is also included in the package in case the stylish sE Red doesn't suit your mood.
●Includes knurled nuts for third-party mounting accessories Some popular drum microphone mounting systems (such as the LPR MicClaw) come with knurled nuts to secure the microphone in place, but these third-party nuts take up a large area and may block part of the V BEAT's XLR connector - to solve this problem, the V BEAT comes with a knurled nut with a smaller outer diameter.
