The V KICK is the most compact and versatile drum microphone in its class. Featuring a capsule with a sound characteristic tuned for kick drums, the microphone offers further shaping capabilities via two switches on the back. From warm and classic to modern and aggressive, the V KICK will deliver the kick drum sound you're looking for. Beyond kick drums, it's also well-suited for bass speaker cabinets, floor toms, and other large drums where low frequencies are crucial.
● Classic / Modern: Four switchable sound settings
The V KICK features four different sound settings, easily accessible via two switches on the rear panel. This is useful for tailoring the sound to a specific project, and is also useful for live shows with multiple bands and short changeover times. Because the switches are located on the rear panel, they're easily accessible, even when the V KICK is positioned inside the kick drum.
With V KICK, you always have the right choice with one microphone.
The left switch shapes the overall sound of the microphone.
Classic offers a more traditional kick sound with familiar low end and a warm, rounded sound, while Modern offers enhanced low and high end for a more contemporary, aggressive sound.
The right switch determines the high-frequency character.
Classic provides high-mid bite (presence boost) and a rounder, more familiar sound, while Modern offers an open, clear, and transient-rich top end - perfect for more modern, aggressive drum sounds like metal or hard rock.
●The most compact kick drum microphone on the market The extremely compact V KICK, coupled with its integrated swivel joint, makes it easy to place inside or outside the kick drum.
In addition, the stand mount and XLR connector are attached side by side to the bottom of the microphone, minimizing the space it takes up, eliminating cable clutter and creating a smart-looking setup.
The Heart of the V KICK: The DMC7 SB Capsule. The all-new, custom-designed DMC7 SB capsule features an innovative, special aluminum voice coil and shares the same technology and features as its acclaimed siblings, the V7 and V7 X. While the V7 X is optimized for many other instruments, the V KICK capsule is customized for a lower, louder tone. Aluminum is significantly lighter than the industry-standard copper, delivering an open, transient-rich sound with excellent low-end energy and punch. The midrange is also exceptionally well-balanced, supporting the natural resonance of percussion instruments.
This sophisticated capsule offers excellent off-axis rejection, effectively reducing bleed from surrounding sources such as snares, toms, and hi-hats, while its supercardioid pattern makes it easy to tailor the bottom end by adjusting the proximity effect - that is, by adjusting the distance from the source.
The use of proven neodymium magnets, strict manufacturing tolerances and high-end finishing ensure excellent sensitivity, excellent sound quality and superior quality.
Unique patented built-in shock mount
V KICK's advanced internal capsule suspension effectively isolates the capsule from mechanical vibrations, eliminating the need for an external shock mount.
Metal housing, steel mesh grille, gold-plated XLR connector
The V KICK's enclosure is made entirely of metal—no plastic parts. The chassis is made of high-quality, durable zinc alloy designed to withstand years of heavy stage use. The steel mesh grille is dent- and rust-resistant for reliability, and the swivel mount holds the V KICK securely at any angle.
Additionally, the V KICK's gold-plated XLR connectors ensure a reliable connection that transmits signals without loss.
●Internal windscreen Effectively reduces unwanted drafts and wind noise. A spare black windscreen is also included in the package in case the stylish sE Red doesn't suit your mood.
●Knurled nuts included for third-party mounting accessories Some popular drum microphone mounting systems (such as the LPR MicClaw) come with knurled nuts to secure the microphone in place, but these third-party nuts take up a large footprint and may block part of the V KICK's XLR connector - to solve this problem, the V KICK comes with a knurled nut with a smaller outer diameter.
