Description
Description
KALA is an American ukulele manufacturer founded in Petaluma, California in 2005. Offering high quality at affordable prices, KALA offers nearly 150 models, including travel and bass models in addition to standard models, and a wide variety of woods. It boasts the No. 1 sales share of ukuleles in the continental United States and enjoys tremendous popularity in Hawaii, the home of ukuleles. First introduced in 2008, the popular U-BASS uses special strings made of a rubber-like material that are thicker and more flexible than standard bass strings. Unlike electric bass strings, they offer a short, natural decay, creating a pleasant sound reminiscent of an upright bass.
This instrument features a beautiful striped ebony body with a deep brown color and reddish stripes. Its quick response produces a deep sound with a moderate attack and a rich tone. It features Shadow piezo pickups, each with its own independent string pickup, for a balanced output of each string. Its unique sound and playing feel are unparalleled, and it's perfectly suited to serious acoustic ensembles. Experience this new sound for yourself.
