Description

[Reissue / The legendary 60s sound reborn for the modern age: Giant Beat]

The history of Paiste cymbals cannot be explained without mentioning the groundbreaking cymbal revolution that took place in the 1950s and 1960s. During the 1950s, the acoustic music era saw the so-called B20 bronze cymbal sound dominate the world.
However, in the 1960s, an electric sound based on rock and roll was broadcast from Europe to the world, ushering in the dawn of the rock era.
Around 1963, Paiste began development using a CuSn8 bronze alloy, and debuted their groundbreaking cymbals in 1967. This was the "Giant Beat" series, which supported the sounds of big artists that are still talked about today, and gave birth to the BONZO funk rhythm and sound of songs like "Immigrant Song" and "Good Times Bad Times," and became the roots of the "2002" series.
In 2005, a sound long awaited by 1960s artists who are still active today and young musicians who continue to carry on that sound was reissued.

This model combines a full mid-range sound with the clear definition and sharpness that are characteristic of Paiste's CuSn8 bronze alloy. It has a thin finish, making it a hi-hat with a familiar and elegant sound.
