Mike Portnoy ActiveGrip 420X Hickory Oval Wood Tip

Popular technical drummer Mike Portnoy's signature sticks now come in the new Active Grip finish! Setting them apart from traditional colored sticks, the Active Grip treatment features a special coating that reacts to the heat of your hands, creating a cool look and a non-slip grip even when sweaty, helping to relax your palms and fingers and allowing for unrestricted playing. The entire surface of the stick, except for the tip, is treated to ensure functionality even when held upside down. The sticks are 14.5mm thicker than the existing TX420N, with a 5A size and a slightly longer length for easier power transfer, and feature a wood tip.

■Artist's comment: "This model has an active grip finish, so it provides a firm grip even when your palms get sweaty while playing. It's also a little heavier than the 420 that I normally use in my other progressive rock band, so it suits my hard rock playing well. I use the 420X for Winery Dogs, Twisted Sisters, and Metal Allegiance. The black color is really cool, and the wood chips are a nice change from the 420." - Mike Portnoy

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.
