This "Grace design" preamp is widely used in recordings due to its transparent sound.
The m103 is the company's first channel strip to feature a transformerless mic preamplifier with Comp and EQ.
The 1U-sized m103 is a model equipped with a 3-band EQ and compressor on the microphone preamp. The microphone preamp inherits the same preamp and functions as the m101, and is equipped with ribbon microphone, guitar, and line input modes, making it suitable for a variety of situations.
The equalizer uses a 3-band parametric equalizer with a "parallel tuning design" that minimizes sound quality degradation and noise. The Hi and Lo sections also have switchable shelving/peaking curves, expanding the range of equalization.
The compressor is an optical compressor that is well suited to recording vocals, etc. It is a natural compressor that takes advantage of the clean circuit design of this unit.
In addition, the m103 allows you to chain "mic preamp → EQ → compressor" or "mic preamp → compressor → EQ", allowing for more freedom in sound creation.
