This is a special guitar that Hartman Guitars' representative, Akita, selected from a vast stock of materials at the Eastman factory in China in November 2025.
We have the luxury of carefully selecting both the top and back, paying close attention to everything from the wood grain to the tap tone and the subtle differences in sound resulting from the combination of the top and back.

- Bourgeois Guitars -
Bourgeois Guitars, created by guitar maker Dana Bourgeois, is a top American guitar brand, often mentioned alongside Collings and Santa Cruz.
Crafted from carefully selected materials, expert technical skills, and designs born from Dana's extensive experience, these guitars combine "high precision as musical instruments" with "a musically rich tone," earning high praise from numerous musicians.

- Bushstone Series -
The appeal of the Touchstone Series lies in Dana Bourgeois's hand-voicing system (also known as tap tuning, where the tone is checked by tapping the wood).
Over the past 50 years, he has refined this time-honored technique and is now recognized worldwide as a leading expert in soundboard voicing. He reads the potential tonality hidden within the fibers of the world's finest tonewoods, and selects only the finest soundboards.
To maximize the unique tone of each type of wood, each brace on the soundboard is meticulously carved, and the sound is checked through hand-voicing. Once the soundboards for the Touchstone series are complete and have undergone a final check by Dana, only those that have been vacuum-sealed are shipped to the Eastman workshop.
There, Eastman's hand-picked luthiers, who have meticulously studied Beaujolais's philosophy and structural methodology, breathe life into each of their guitars.

This is the classic Dreadnought D-18 style.
This guitar boasts uncompromising, high-quality specifications, including a Sitka spruce top, Adirondack spruce bracing, Honduran mahogany back and sides, a mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and Schaller tuners.
In terms of sound, it's a superb finish that's in no way inferior to the all-USA made Bourgeois. It has the thick, lustrous fundamental tone and voluminous midrange characteristic of Bourgeois, along with harmonics that create a beautiful lingering resonance without being overpowering, and a smooth sustain. All of these are blended together in exquisite balance, producing a pure tone that highlights the nuances of the player.
While possessing the rich volume characteristic of a dreadnought body, it features a moderately tight and manageable bass and an extended midrange. The sparkling harmonics and sustain are also pleasing, resulting in a truly beautiful sound.
If you're looking for a well-balanced dreadnought guitar that can handle a wide range of styles, from vocal-based music to fingerstyle, I highly recommend this one.

While this model is priced in the upper 400,000 yen range, making it quite affordable within the Beaujolais range, it's far too good to simply be described as cost-effective.
