Description
Description
We have received a used 2012 model of the top-of-the-line '914ce'!
Regarding the condition of this instrument, there are scratches on the back of the body and minor dents on the back of the neck. Please refer to the photos provided for details.
Other than that, there are some scratches and signs of use commensurate with its age, but there is no damage that would impair its playability.
Upon arrival at our store, the following overall inspection and adjustments are performed at our partner workshop.
- Refretting and re-gluing the bridge
This instrument boasts luxurious specifications befitting a high-end Taylor model, featuring a Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood sides and back.
The abalone top trim and beautiful fretboard inlays give it a luxurious look, which is another attractive feature.
The body shape is Taylor's signature Grand Auditorium. It combines ease of handling with a rich tonal range, making it suitable for a wide range of playing styles, from fingerstyle to strumming. The sound, which is well-balanced from low to high frequencies, is very easy to use, and you can definitely feel the sparkle and quick attack that is characteristic of Taylor guitars.
Furthermore, this instrument features the Expression System (ES1), which predates the current model. Its unique structure utilizes a magnetic sensor inside the body, resulting in a more natural sound with a greater sense of airiness and resonance, distinct from the current ES2. It faithfully reproduces Taylor's characteristic delicate nuances even when using line output.
The main difference from the current 914ce is that, in addition to the pickup system, it uses the Forward Shifted CV Bracing that was specified at the time. While the current model has been changed to V-Class bracing, this instrument has the traditional Taylor responsiveness and a naturally cohesive sound. Furthermore, compared to recent models, it has a flashy and gorgeous feel with Cindy inlays on the fretboard and abalone decorations on the body top, making it a guitar that lets you enjoy the atmosphere unique to the early 2010s.
Unlike a brand new guitar, this one boasts a well-worn, mature sound that is truly appealing.
This guitar is recommended not only for those who have been looking for a 914ce from the first ES era, but also for those who are looking for a Taylor sound that is different from current models.
