Description

A Z2 featuring the older Super Fatty pickup design, which is no longer available for order due to a minor change, has arrived as a pre-owned item!

Dingwall has impressed first-call bassist Lee Sklar, who has participated in recordings and live performances with numerous famous artists, and has earned high praise from discerning bassists around the world for its distinctive FANNED-FRET SYSTEM, body balance, and pickup placement.
This is the flagship model "Z2," manufactured in Canada.

The Z2 is the model that served as the basis for Lee Sklar's favorite LSS, and it features a dual-density ash body (a combination of woods of different masses) that controls the low and high frequencies, and two pickups mounted in a position near the bridge known as the "sweet spot" for excellent tone projection. What's also noteworthy is that this particular instrument is a custom model with several expensive options, including a Celous color finish with silver inlays in the ash wood grain, active tuning, a mini switch for pickup wiring selection, and black pearloid speed bar inlays on the fretboard!

This guitar features the older SF (Super Fatty) pickup, which is no longer available for order. With just the front pickup, it delivers a woody tone perfect for walking bass, and when using both pickups, the rotary selector allows you to choose between series and parallel configurations. This makes it ideal for a wide range of genres, from edgy rock with a pick to MM-style slap sounds.
Furthermore, the electronics are renowned for their natural feel, and the convenient Glockenlang 3EQ preamp, which uses the treble control as a tone control in passive mode, and the inclusion of a mini-switch that allows you to switch the internal wiring of each pickup between series and parallel, enable a wide range of sound shaping possibilities.

The scale length starts at 37 inches for the 5th string, and the 1st string is 34 inches, the same as a normal long scale, thanks to the FANNED-FRET SYSTEM. This ensures that every string produces well-balanced tension and a solid tone. The tight vibration of the low B string, which gives it a well-defined sound, is another unique feature of this model. The FANNED-FRET SYSTEM (Multi Scale), which has already been adopted by many brands, has frets positioned to follow the natural movement of the human arm, so everyone who tries it in a store says it's "surprisingly easy to play." The body design, which makes you not feel the ultra-long 37-inch scale at all, also contributes to this.

Although there are some dents on the outer edge of the body on the high-frequency string side, the neck and truss rod function without any problems, and there is no damage that would affect playability, so this is a recommended instrument even for those who were considering buying a new one.

The wave of rising prices across all brands is unavoidable, and currently, the lead time for Canadian-made products is over four years. Furthermore, there is virtually no new stock available in stores, so don't miss this opportunity if you've been looking for one.
