ATELIER Z's classic "Beta" series has been upgraded and is now available.
ATELIER Z was born as a signature model for Tomohito Aoki, one of Japan's leading bassists, and has many users, both professional and amateur, as an all-around active JB model with a high level of perfection. The old Beta model was based on the concept of a 24-fret specification and a compact body size, and it is also known as a popular model that served as the basis for the "Beta6 MT Custom," a signature model of Mutsumi, a super-technical bassist who has gained popularity mainly on YouTube and social media for his easy-to-understand yet highly accurate practice method videos and his online salon "Mutsumi's Bass School," which boasts a large number of members.
Compared to the flagship Magneture series, it retains its easy-to-handle, compact body, bold heel-cut joint design, and high playability thanks to its 24-fret specification. With the newly adopted string retainer and heel-cut neck joint, it has evolved to be even easier to play and more practical.
The pickups utilize split coils for noiseless operation. Slanted pole pieces add depth to the sound. The preamp is the "AZ-3B," a 3-band preamp developed specifically for this model, allowing for 3-band boost and cut, expanding the sonic range more than ever before. It also features a removable finger ramp, making it easy to play fast passages.
Even with a low action setting, it delivers a solid, resonant sound that doesn't lose its body, producing a bass tone that makes a strong presence in various ensembles and genres.
Furthermore, this model features a custom faded pink color, giving it a cool look with the wood grain showing through. With black hardware, it also boasts a unique appeal that sets it apart from the regular Beta4. Please give it a try!
