Description
Description
Founded in Poland in 1982, MAYONES has established its popularity primarily in Europe with its solid and meticulous handcrafted construction, unique and distinctive ideas, and a reliable sound that has captivated many artists. In recent years, it has gained particular support from loud music players and has become a brand that attracts attention worldwide.
The "Duvell Elite" model features a flat-top "Eye poplar" or "Curly poplar" top, a mahogany body, a 5-piece neck primarily made of wenge, a 4-bolt neck joint, and a sharp, solid body shape.
While Duvell Elite models typically use a 5-ply neck primarily made of wenge, this particular model features a 5-ply neck combined with wenge, resulting in a sound character where the bright, vibrant tone of maple comes to the forefront.
The bridge uses a through-body design from Hipshot, which makes it easier to achieve sufficient string tension and allows for a low-action setup and drop tuning.
The guitar is equipped with Mayones' original "Velvetrone" series pickups, "Ironside" and "Solium," which have been standard features since 2024. The "Ironside," which offers high gain and a responsive attack that follows picking, is mounted in the bridge position, while the "Solium," which offers excellent balance and produces soulful leads and silky clean sounds, is mounted in the neck position. The combination of these two original pickups creates a sound that is distinctly Mayones.
The pickup selector uses a 5-way lever switch, allowing for individual pickup switching and coil tapping. The wiring also incorporates a "Mayones Treble Bleed Mod" high-pass filter to compensate for the high-frequency drop that occurs when the volume is turned down, resulting in a simple yet functional control scheme.
The fret area is set up using PLEK technology, which mechanically scans and adjusts the fret height and nut height before shipping. Using PLEK results in a highly precise fret setting, producing a sound with excellent note separation, stable chord definition, and accurate pitch.
