FAQ

Description

A pioneer among Japanese ukulele makers.
We have received some second-hand works by the extremely popular luthier Shimo Takahiro.

The condition of this instrument shows signs of use, including very small dents on the body edges and throughout the instrument.
There is no visible wear on the frets, and there is no buzzing or clogging that would interfere with playing.

The brand has many enthusiasts, both professional and amateur, and is affectionately known by fans as "Simorele."
He launched his own brand, SHIMO GUITARS, in 1982 and continues to handcraft each instrument in his workshop in Hachioji.

This instrument, "KALANI," is a soprano-sized model with the body, neck, fingerboard, and bridge all constructed from Hawaiian Koa.
Shimo is known for his original shapes and use of materials, and the KALani is a standard model that represents the ultimate in traditional Hawaiian ukulele.
The strong grain of the core wood produces a nicely dry tone and plenty of volume.

These days, it is rare to come across this item on both the new and used markets.
Don't miss this opportunity to get your hands on the rare Shimorele!
