Description
While maintaining the concept of a "guitar that prioritizes playability" that is recommended for beginners, the guitar has been upgraded in both appearance and playability, with changes to the fingerboard inlays, bridge shape, and a matte-finished neck that allows for smoother left-hand movement.
The biggest feature is the adoption of a dovetail joint and rear-mounted neck, which were previously only available on high-end models. This increases the sense of unity between the body and neck, resulting in a more solid sound.
The HJ-OSAMURAISAN II features a dovetail joint and rear-mounted neck, which previously only existed on high-end models due to the high level of precision required. The tighter fit between the body and neck improves durability and produces a more solid sound.
◆Matte neck The neck has been changed to a matte finish, allowing for smoother movement of the left hand.
◆Bridge shape The bridge shape has been changed to a bottom belly bridge to match the custom model "HJ-523" that Samurai-san mainly uses.
◆The position mark fingerboard inlay has been renewed to snowflake.
◆Binding The binding has a tortoiseshell pattern.
About the HEADWAY Japan Tune-up Series
I've heard that professional guitarists don't just buy a guitar and use it as is; they first take it to a trusted repairman to have it adjusted to their preferred settings before taking it on stage. Experienced guitarists even file the nut themselves and adjust it until it feels just right. They know that a precise setting that suits the player directly affects their playing. With the Headway Japan Tune-up series, we've focused on settings that maximize the guitar's potential, down to the smallest detail. We deliver guitars of undeniable quality that can only be achieved by carefully performing each and every mundane task.
The new JT series uses the same dovetail joint and rear neck attachment techniques that require high processing precision as Headway's higher-end models.
◆Comment from Samurai◆
I'm Osamurai-san, and I've collaborated with Headway to develop a signature model. This model, the HJ-OSAMURAISAN, has been tuned for ease of play, with a low action and Extra Light strings. Modeled after the Headway HJ-523 I use, I asked them to create a budget version that's as easy to play as possible and produces a great sound.
What makes a good sound? Different listeners perceive it differently, and different genres, tunes, and phrases call for different sounds and different guitars. Among these, ease of play is a universal factor. It is because an instrument is easy to play that you can create a good sound. If you want to express a variety of things with a single instrument, I feel that ease of play is the most important thing. This is especially true if it's your first guitar.
There is an ancient Japanese saying, "beauty of utility." This means that a tool that pursues functionality is beautiful. Rather than pursuing beauty from the start, pursuing practicality paradoxically results in something beautiful. I think the same can be said for sound. If you have tried playing the guitar before but gave up because you couldn't play well, try playing this guitar. It will undoubtedly be easier to play than your previous one. If you are just starting out, I would recommend that you try playing this guitar first, and if possible, compare it with other guitars before choosing this one.
It's best to start with a guitar that's easy to play, and then become proficient with it before pursuing your own sound. If you find playing fun, your musical world will expand. This is the kind of guitar that "starts with the basics." That said, this guitar sounds fantastic. It may be your first and last guitar.
As for the condition, there are some dents and signs of use overall, but the neck is in good condition and can be used without any problems.
In addition, pickups have been installed and removed, and there are traces of removal on the end of the body.
