Description
Description
The Pino Palladino Signature StingRay Bass captures the iconic tone and feel of one of the most influential bassists in history. Inspired by Palladino's original 1979 fretless StingRay, this signature model is available in both fretted and fretless versions, each recreating his distinctive tone and playability.
It features a '79 Burst-finish poplar body, a dark-tinted maple neck with a thin rosewood fingerboard, and a unique asymmetrical neck curve that mirrors the shape of his original bass. The neck curves from a strong V toward the bass end to a rounded C toward the treble end, creating a more precise playing experience for your fingertips.
The pickups were specially designed for this guitar based on a late '70s recipe, featuring shorter pole pieces. They pair perfectly with the preamp, which has been voiced to recreate the warmth and character of a aged circuit. The 2EQ's preamp is a hand-soldered circuit board with period-accurate components and CTS pots (500K treble pots instead of the 1M pot used by the guitarist), tuned to recreate the tone of the preamp he played.
The bridge saddles are made of brass, and the nut is made of NUBONE. The Graphtec Nubone nut, carefully hand-formed with a width of 1.686 (42.8 mm), reproduces the guitarist's own modifications, enhancing tone, volume, and overtones. The trinity of materials, electronics, and hardware creates his iconic tone.
The fretted models are strung with Pino Signature Smoothie Flats strings, which deliver a rich, powerful tone, while the fretless models are strung with custom-gauge Ernie Ball Slinky Nickel Wound strings, which deliver a smooth, expressive slide.
This is a guitar that will give you the ultimate sound and playability, so don't miss out.
