Description

This is a used TS1 100W Head, a popular current model with a LEAD channel, on consignment.
It works fine and there are a few faint rubber foot marks on the Tolex top, but otherwise there is no major damage and it is in good condition.

The TS1 was released in 2010 as a limited edition tribute amplifier in memory of the late Taku Sakashita, one of Japan's leading guitar luthiers, and was inspired by his ideas. Responding to demand for its amazing sound, the TS1 made its long-awaited comeback in 2017. It was then further refined in 2020, evolving into the current latest version.

Compared to the silky, so-called Two Rock sound sought after by John Mayer, the TS1 has a tighter, crisper, and more masculine sound character. This tight, straightforward tone embodies what Sakashita calls his ideal sound, his "Tone Secret." Those who appreciate the nuances of their picking will be delighted with this amp's expressive power, which blends speed with the player's touch. Whether it's a clean or drive tone, it's sure to help you realize your ideal tone.

The original model had two inputs, one normal and one via a FET circuit, but the latest model combines the inputs into one, and like the Classic Reverb, a new FET boost has been placed next to the input on the front panel, which can be turned on/off with a mini toggle switch. The tone is enhanced slightly harder by passing the signal through a buffer/boost circuit using FET elements, and can be used to color the sound to suit the player's preferences, or as a boost when you want to push it even further.
In addition, the original only had a Bright switch (which has almost no effect when the GAIN knob is turned past 12 o'clock), a MID switch, and the filtering JAZZ/ROCK switch (EQ1/EQ2 in the latest specifications), which is familiar from Dumble models, but the new model also includes a DEEP control, similar to other Two-Rock Amps, which, in combination with the 3-Band EQ, allows for fine-tuning of the tone.
The BYPASS switch bypasses the 3-Band EQ, creating a more immersive sound with a more vivid mid-range and a more piercing sound.

The biggest change to the latest version, which underwent an evolution in 2020, is the change to the effects loop function on the rear panel, which now allows you to turn the SEND/RETURN on/off and adjust the level and brightness.
Previously, the amp's effects loop was passive to minimize sound changes, making level and impedance matching difficult. However, the current, improved, and easier-to-use design allows you to match a variety of effects with just the amp itself. Separate mini switches for the LOOP SEND and RETURN allow you to turn the Tube Buffered on and off, adjust the volume with the LEVEL knob, and even adjust the brightness with the PULL knob (high SEND and RETURN levels will not have any effect). Of course, when turned off, it can be used as a passive loop, just like the original. While the previous TS1 required an external device like the ELI-1 (tube buffered effects loop interface) to take advantage of the drive tone, the current version allows you to create everything from your own sound to sounds that use effects, all with just the amp itself!

The HI/LOW switch allows you to switch between 100 watts and 50 watts. While a custom-designed output transformer typically requires a speaker output impedance switch, this unit can be used without changing the output impedance. This is a used copy of the legendary TS1, which boasts a straightforward, powerful drive sound and a buffered FX loop! Don't miss out!
