MID BOOST, OVERDRIVE AND VINTAGE STUDIO MOJO

A mid-booster and drive featuring a vintage Pultec-type studio EQ.
In addition to the MID boost, it is equipped with a high-frequency cut control, allowing for a wider variety of sound creation.

The M-EQ DRIVER is a mid booster and drive pedal designed based on the musical equalization of vintage Pultec studio EQs.
This legendary 1950s passive EQ is still sought after by professionals today, with its highly musical and versatile EQ curves and unique push-pull output stage overdrive, and its sound can be heard on thousands of hit records.
Rather than create an exact replica, ORIGIN EFFECTS decided to re-create this classic studio gear as a compact pedal for guitar.
It features the perfect mid-boost, studio-quality saturation, and a tube-like output stage, delivering hard, half-stop wow distortion.
By adding an adaptive circuit, we have succeeded in controlling the response of the M-EQ DRIVER and consistently producing a unique, highly accurate character.

Key Features
Based on a 1950s Pultec studio EQ. Mid-boost frequency selection. Adaptive cut control for dynamic response. Transformer-equipped circuitry. Tube-like push-pull output stage. Ultra-high input impedance. High-quality buffered bypass. Premium components, from the enclosure to the components themselves. Designed, engineered and made in the UK.

The original Pultec studio EQ is renowned for having some of the most natural and musical EQ curves.
ORIGIN EFFECTS recreates the behavior of this timeless passive EQ and optimizes it for electric guitar.
To ensure you're only boosting the right parts of your guitar signal, the M-EQ DRIVER lets you choose from three mid-boost frequencies: 0.8, 1.0, and 1.3 kHz (the KCS unit listed on the device stands for kilocycles per second, a defunct term).

This versatile mid-boost not only ensures compatibility with all kinds of guitars, but can also be pushed harder to unlock a range of saturation, from classic mid-boosted overdrive to ferocious, resonant distortion tones.
The carefully engineered transformer-equipped circuit faithfully reproduces the sonic characteristics of the original vintage Pultec studio EQs, adding rich harmonic overtones to your sound.

Used in conjunction with the MIDS knob and DRIVE control, you can balance mid boost and overdrive to give your clean or overdriven tones just the right amount of mid emphasis you need.

To add something new to this classic design, ORIGIN EFFECTS has equipped the M-EQ DRIVER with an adaptive circuit and added a CUT control.

Based on the high-frequency attenuation band of a Pultec studio EQ, the M-EQ DRIVER's CUT control gradually cuts high frequencies as they increase in frequency. Engaging the ADAPT switch reduces this high-end roll-off as the pedal cleans up, allowing you to smoothly transition from warm overdrive to bright clean tones as you adjust your guitar's volume knob or apply dynamics to your playing.
