Description
Since its release in 1960, the Jazz Bass has been a staple of Fender's bass lineup alongside the Precision Bass, and continues to influence the music scene to this day. Numerous variations and reissues of the original, as well as models inspired by it by other companies, have been produced, establishing it as a solid standard for electric bass guitars.
The guitar we have in stock this time is a Head serial period ash body, maple fingerboard, 3-bolt joint, shipped around 1977.
【body】
The overall weight is approximately 5.1 kg. The body is made of ash. The body color is the popular black. There is weather checking appropriate for the model year, some dents and scratches, signs of wear on the pickguard, and some tarnish on the metal parts, but the guitar is in good condition and retains the lovely atmosphere of an old bass.
【neck】
The neck and fingerboard are made of solid maple. It features a three-point neck joint, a standard feature for this period. While there are some minor dents and slight discoloration on the metal parts, the condition is quite good. The tuners function well with little variation in winding tightness. The frets and nut have been replaced and filed down with a PLEK machine, resulting in excellent playability. The fingerboard surface has been repainted along with the refret. The headstock thickness is 14.4mm. The nut width is 39.2mm. The neck shape is relatively sturdy.
[Electrical system]
The controls are standard jazz bass wiring (2 volume/1 tone). The controls, including the pickups, remain the same as they were back then. The output is solid, the response to picking is excellent, and the overall tone is well-balanced, with a solid bottom end.
