Description
Description
This medium-gain overdrive pedal was developed over a period of more than a year in collaboration with Char, a leading Japanese rock guitarist and someone who many of his followers look up to, aspire to, and respect. The goal was to create a new overdrive sound.
Based on a legendary drive pedal, this pedal has evolved into a new drive sound.
Char has used many legendary drive pedals. Among them, we thoroughly examined the sound of several pedals, including his own Klon CENTAUR, which he particularly loved and used for many years, and a pedal owned by VEMURAM that is considered to have a particularly good sound. Furthermore, Char creates his signature drive sound not by using a drive pedal alone, but by combining it with boost sounds from pedals like the Roland CE-1 and Watkins Copicat. Therefore, we began development with the aim of achieving a new drive sound that reflected these nuances. Over the course of more than a year, Char himself repeatedly used sample pedals in live performances, and through repeated design changes and tuning based on that feedback, we were able to achieve the desired new medium-gain drive sound.
Over the course of more than a year, VEMURAM tested and developed Char's guitars, amplifiers, and other equipment from across the years. VEMURAM was entrusted with a wide range of equipment that Char has used over the years, from the various legendary amplifiers he has used over the years, to his favorite pedal boards and Copicats, as well as his legendary Mustangs, a 59' Burgundy Mist Stratocaster, a Les Paul with a P90, and an SG. VEMURAM repeatedly tuned and tested these legendary pieces of equipment.
Two Sound Tunings in One Unit Of the numerous sample pedals created during the development period, Char ultimately chose two that he liked best. While the circuits are essentially the same, differences in component types and constants result in significantly different tones and sound nuances. Char himself couldn't decide which was better until the very end, and since he wanted both sounds for live performances, he luxuriously packed two sounds into one unit. The first sound has a slightly mellow tone with a vintage feel, while the second, B-ch (bright channel), is a slightly brighter, more powerful sound with a stronger attack. Furthermore, neither of these two sounds is dominant; the levels can be individually adjusted and switched with a footswitch.
Equipped with control functions that allow fine adjustment
In addition to the main control, SPIRITONE is equipped with a SAT trimmer that can adjust the range of tones similar to the saturation produced by the power tubes of a vacuum tube amplifier, and an ON/OFF switch for the input buffer circuit, allowing for detailed adjustments and selection depending on the combination with other equipment being used at the same time and the sound field conditions of the venue.
There are some minor scratches, but it is in relatively good condition.
It works without any problems.
