[SSL2+MKII]
A new USB audio interface upgraded based on feedback from users worldwide
2-in/4-out USB audio interface
- ESS 32-bit 192KHz AD/DA converter - Added high-pass filter/LED. Improved switch (48V/LINE/HPF).
- Hi-Z input on front (auto-detect)
- Headphone input on the front (SSL2 has two headphone outputs. Level pot is common / 2+ is the same as the previous model)
All four outputs on the SSL2+MK2 have been changed to balanced TRS. The SSL aPre mic preamp, which was well-received in the previous model for its clear, faithful sound, continues to feature a 4K switch. Like the previous model, it uses the same Alps potentiometers, Neutrik connectors, and NJM headphone amplifier as the SSL large console. Stereo loopback is standard. Like the previous model, it is USB-C, USB class compliant, and requires an ASIO driver for Windows OS (free download from the SSL website).
- The included software is SSL Production Pack, just like the previous model. - Upgraded digital and analog circuits have resulted in a significantly improved dynamic range, providing clearer sound quality with less noise.
The SSL2MKII and SSL2+MKII feature a new 32-bit 192KHz converter, replacing the 24-bit 192KHz converter found in the previous generation. Both the analog and digital circuits have been refined, resulting in a significant improvement in the dynamic range of both input and output, providing a cleaner, less noisy sound. In addition, functionality has been updated based on feedback from users worldwide, including the addition of a high-pass filter for each channel and an independent Hi-Z input on the front panel.
The previous generation SSL2 was most praised for its class-leading performance, USB bus powered, and superb sound image of the SuperAnalogue mic preamps found in SSL's large recording consoles, with clean, high-resolution, and wide gain range.
This is a best-in-class mic preamp with a gain range that is ample to handle any microphone, and is meticulously designed to capture every nuance of every performance.
The SSL development team did not use the typical IC circuitry used in the design of the mic preamplifiers of many USB audio interfaces.
We took a different approach to the design by combining specially selected discrete low-noise transistors and an integrated circuit in a two-stage circuit, achieving the best noise performance and a wide gain range.
Furthermore, the Analog Enhancement Circuit 4K switch adds high-frequency EQ boost/harmonics to give the input source an analog-like coloration, changing the sound image to that of the SSL4000E series consoles that were all the rage in the 1980s and are still in use in studios today.
This 4K switch makes the sound source thicker and more vibrant, and is effective for sources such as vocals and guitars.
SSL Production Pack Software Bundle Included: Following on from its predecessor, the SSL2 MKII also comes with the SSL Production Pack software bundle, a package of software useful for sound creation, including the SSL Vocalstrip and Drumstrip plug-ins.

[d+USB Type-C to C classB/1.0]
★Audio-grade, Type-C to C (USB 2.0) cable
No need for a USB adapter for either the PC or the interface.
The MacBook Pro, the standard in DJ, DTM, and streaming environments, is equipped with a USB Type-C connector. Many users have been forced to use a Type-C converter when using a d+ USB cable. Additionally, with the emergence of many audio interfaces using Type-C, there has been a demand for a simpler, direct USB Type-C connection without a converter. The introduction of the d+ USB Type-C to C Class B cable makes this possible. The stress of needing a USB adapter is no longer necessary. The d+ USB Type-C to C Class B cable provides a smart, high-quality Type-C connection for your system.
●The quality of the d+ sound remains the same
The Type-C connector is very compact. However, if the cable used is downsized unnecessarily, it will not satisfy many users. The d+ series Type-C is the largest size within USB regulations. Despite its slim design, it promises a wide range of sound. The flat cable and connector, which inherit the design that is instantly recognizable as d+, are a symbol of d+ quality that remains even with the change in connector.
●World-class quality control: The compact and convenient Type-C connector. Because it's small and portable, durability is essential. d+ USB Type-C to C Class B is produced under strict quality control, and only those that pass rigorous testing are shipped. In addition to tests under real-world conditions such as insertion/removal, bending, and load durability, the cable undergoes a characteristic impedance test called TDR (time domain reflectometry), and environmental tests such as placing the cable in high and low temperature environments with an elevation difference of 80°C or more for more than 48 hours to test the cable's condition and electrical characteristics. In addition, the cable undergoes tests under humidity levels of 80% or more and UV exposure. Only those that pass all these tests are shipped.
● Sound quality comparable to that of battery powered devices
When comparing the sound output when a PC is powered by an AC adapter to the sound output when it's running on the PC's battery, the sound output when the PC is powered directly from the battery without AC/DC switching is superior. Many modern PCs, including the MacBook Pro, use USB Type-C cables as power cables, and a d+USB Type-C to C class B cable also makes a difference when used as a power supply cable for these devices. There's no denying that power cables improve sound output, and the effectiveness of using a d+USB Type-C to C class B cable as a power cable for a PC is no exception.
