Description

Rupert Neve Designs has released a compact active transformer DI that's easy to incorporate into your pedalboard!

The RNDI-M features the same Rupert Neve Designs custom transformer and discrete FET input stage as the best-selling RNDI, RNDI-S, and RNDI-8, delivering the same award-winning tone and clarity in a compact, pedalboard-ready design. This robust, compact design delivers the uncompromising sound and dynamics of Rupert Neve Designs DIs to even more musicians and engineers.

Compact design, great tone
The RNDI-M is compatible with a variety of instrument-level sources, including electric guitars, basses, synthesizers, keyboards, piezo pickups, and more. Its discrete, Class-A circuitry, built around Rupert Neve's custom transformers, delivers exceptional sonic performance and a stunningly natural sound from below 5 Hz to well beyond 90 kHz. It handles input levels up to +20.5 dBu, and its low-impedance, transformer-coupled output stage minimizes signal loss between devices, even over long cable runs.

■Signature Sound
The RNDI-M's unique precision, tone, and response are achieved through the perfect harmony between a custom Rupert Neve Designs transformer and a Class-A discrete FET input stage.

・Custom transformer
The RNDI-M's custom output transformer adds musical harmonics and dimension to your sound while providing superior passive isolation. The low-impedance, transformer-balanced output ensures consistent performance, even over long cable runs, making it ideal for a wide range of applications, from stage to studio.

-Class A discrete FET amplifier
The RNDI-M's Class-A discrete FET input stage features a high-impedance 2.2MΩ input powered by external +48V phantom power, providing consistent performance with a wide range of instruments and other sources. The Class-A design eliminates crossover distortion, while the majority of harmonic content is a pleasing combination of second- and third-order components. These subtle yet closely related harmonic components add richness to the sound, providing a musically rich sound.

■Wide bandwidth and ample headroom
The RNDI-M provides flatness within 1/4 dB from 28 Hz to 60 kHz, and +/- 1 dB up to 90 kHz, including bass response below 5 Hz. This wide bandwidth, combined with the harmonic response of the output transformer, delivers a low end that feels like an octave deeper, without sacrificing midrange richness or top-end sparkle.

■For guitar, bass, synth, keyboard, etc.
The RNDI-M has a uniquely high input headroom of +20.5dBu, making it suitable for a wide range of sources, from guitar and bass to synths, keyboards, drum machines, and even pre-recorded material.
