Description
Description
This extremely rare, pre-owned ST guitar was ordered by Rockhouse Ikebe from Mas Hino and produced in extremely limited quantities! This rare pre-owned custom ST guitar was ordered by Rockhouse from Mas Hino using a Fender USA American Vintage Series body, which was still sold fully painted. It was manufactured in 2002.
This is a special custom-made item with a Candy Apple Red body in the style of the famous DG, a maple neck, and EMG PUs!
Mas Hino is a world-renowned guitar builder, famous for his own guitar brand, Mas Hino, as well as for being the master builder for M Legend and Atelier Z! He was also known for his work at Rudy's Pensa Custom Guitars, located on Music Row on 48th Street in the heart of Manhattan, New York. Located in the heart of the global music scene, Rudy's is a high-end, long-established guitar shop frequented by many top musicians, including Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, and Robben Ford. It's well-known that Mas used his experience in New York to tune and modify the guitars of many top musicians, including these musicians. As you all know, Mas' subsequent work, utilizing his experience, is well-known.
This guitar was made in the early 2000s! Back when Fender's American Vintage Series bodies were sold with paint already applied, Rock House ordered several Custom STs using this body from Mas Hino, who was back in Japan at the time. This is one of them!
Since the Candy Apple Red body was available, Ikebe staff ordered a DG-style Stratocaster inspired by the famous red color! The striking red body features EMG pickups! The neck, of course, has a maple fingerboard, reminiscent of the guitar used by the greatest guitarists in their legendary concerts! You'll want to play the intro to that classic song right away!
The neck plate is hand-engraved with "Custom Built for Ikebe Gakki by Mas Hino" and the date 042202. This guitar was completed on April 22, 2002.
The guitar features an alder-bodied Fender USA body, a one-piece maple neck crafted by Mas Hino, and three EMG SA pickups! The bridge is a Callaham block, a choice Mas's idea! The guitar originally came with Callaham saddles and springs, but a few years later, the previous owner, seeking a more DG-like feel, consulted Mas Hino, who recommended replacing them with Raw Vintage saddles and springs, released in the mid-2000s. (The Callaham saddles and springs are not included.) The nut is currently made of bone.
As mentioned above, Mas Hino honed his skills as a guitar craftsman at the prestigious New York guitar shop "Pensa Suhr" and built relationships with numerous world-class musicians. After returning to Japan in the early 2000s, he demonstrated his talent as a master builder for the Atelier Z brand for several years. He is now based back in New York, but unfortunately, there are fewer opportunities to see his current work in Japan. In that sense, this is an extremely rare guitar!
This time, we have a rare, used item in stock! It was made in 2002.
There is discoloration and peeling of the paint on the lower right surface of the body top due to aging, aging of the overall paint, a crack in the body that was introduced during assembly on the upper right part of the body top that has been repaired and touched up, small scratches overall, scratches from playing, small dents overall, dents on the headstock, dents near the upper endpin, and dullness of parts, but none of these affect playability or cause any problems. We have performed a full maintenance and cleaning at our shop.
The frets have been filed. They are quite low, but still in tune. There are about 20% remaining. Jumbo frets have been installed. If they wear down any further, the frets will need to be replaced. The nut is also in good condition and can be used as is. (The nut has been replaced.)
The truss rod has about 30 degrees of remaining range, but it can still be adjusted backwards, so there is no problem with normal adjustment.
This item will be delivered in its current condition around the neck. There is no pre-owned warranty. Also, since Mas Hino is now based in New York, he is no longer available to repair or set up the guitar. Thank you for your understanding.
(*Repairs and setups will be accepted at our workshop in Japan.)
The electrical system has been fully checked and there are no problems with operation.
It weighs approximately 3.62 kg, and is balanced to produce a solid sound.
Accessories include an Atelier Z gig case and arm.
A rare second-hand item that you won't see often!
Don't miss this opportunity!
