Description

MSB4 in great sound and good condition!

This is a 1991 Series I/MSB guitar with a medium (32-inch) scale length and slim neck that provides an excellent balance.
The thick, rich tone produced by the large semi-hollow body and the hi-fidelity yet rich sound produced by the PF-6B circuit are the true essence of the Alembic MSB. The warmth of the wood can be felt even within the solid core of the sound, creating a unique sound that strikes an exquisite balance between the sound texture of a vintage instrument and the hi-fi feel of high-resolution audio.

Although it may be best thought of as a solo instrument like the Stanley, it is also an excellent instrument purely as a bass, with its thickness, resolution, and speed of sound, and when used properly, it can have a great presence in an ensemble.

Although a 1/4" phone jack can also be used for output (*1), the rich, high-resolution sound obtained by passing it through the DS-5 power supply, which supplies ±15 to 20V, is the true essence of the Alembic. (*1: When a shielded cord (monaural) is connected to the 1/4" phone jack, normally only the front PU is output, but since this unit has been changed to mono wiring, both PUs are output, just like a normal bass.)

There is some oxidation on the metal parts and minor scratches and scuffs on the body and neck, but no major dents or paint peeling, and considering its age, it looks very clean. There are cracks near the two tone knobs and the fixing screw holes, but there don't seem to be any concerns about its strength. Two battery snaps have been replaced, but there appear to be no changes to the pots or major parts around the circuit.

There is no fret buzz or clogging, the neck is in good condition, and there are no concerns about functionality, such as the truss rod or electrical system.

A rare medium-scale bass with plenty of atmosphere!
Don't miss out on this excellent used item with great sound and excellent condition!
