Description
Description
Since its founding in 1982, MAYONES (pronounced Mayones overseas as Mayones) has been immensely popular in Japan, as well as Europe and the US, thanks to its unique lineup and reliable quality. Its user list includes a number of top players, including Hadrien Feraud, Mohini Dey (a B'z tour member), Nathan Navarro, and Federico Malaman.
The Jabba is based on the JB type, but is designed with 24 frets in mind for balance and playability, and the Hadrien Feraud signature model has further refined control placement and neck shape to suit his diverse playing style.
The body is made of swamp ash, the Aged Blonde model features a rosewood fingerboard, and the neck is made of maple with TWE (Tonally Enhanced Wood) processing. TWE (Tonally Enhanced Wood) is similar to thermo- or roast-processing in that it improves the wood's resonance, stability, and attack.
This instrument is lacquered and then aged, which gives it a tone that blends naturally into the ensemble, even though it is a newly assembled instrument.
The Adrian model has an 18mm string spacing, a neck that's 1mm thinner at the first fret than a regular Jabba, and a narrower neck around the 12th fret, making it extremely playable for phrasing like Mr. Adrian's, which involves dancing across the fretboard from low to high positions. The finger lamps located between the pickups have become so iconic that many bass players have them installed on their instruments.
The built-in Mayones original preamp can be switched between active and passive modes via a push/pull master volume control, allowing for precise adjustments depending on the genre or song. Like the latest Jabba models, this unit's preamp can be switched between 9V battery and rechargeable power, and it even comes with a headphone jack and AUX in, making it easy to practice in hotels on tour without the need for additional equipment.
In 2006, at the young age of 22, he played on John McLaughlin's album, and the following year, in 2007, he released a solo album and performed at an event hosted by Ikebe Musical Instruments. He has since worked with many artists, and in recent years has even replaced Anthony Jackson and participated in the Hiromi Uehara Trio. Be sure to try out this guitar, recognized by this world-renowned virtuoso.
