Description

The book that focuses solely on the Gibson Les Paul Custom is back with more pages!

The Les Paul Custom was the top-of-the-line Les Paul model released by Gibson in 1954.
A new mook focusing solely on this proud, jet-black guitar model has been released with expanded content!
In addition to models from the golden age of the 50s and 60s, this edition also includes a large number of new custom models from the 70s and later.
In addition to interviews and introductions to the instruments of custom guitar enthusiasts such as Ayukawa Makoto, Kikuchi Hideaki (THE YELLOW MONKEY), Asai Kenichi, Fujii Kenji (The Birthday), Owatari Ryo (Do As Infinity), and NAKA (ex. The BONEZ), we have also added an article about custom guitar lover SUGIZO.
Also, be sure to check out Hirokazu Ogura's article comparing vintage custom and standard guitars from the same era.
The definitive book on the Les Paul Custom is now back!

A gallery of over 70 newly photographed models. Many of them are from the 1950s, which are now too expensive to afford. The photos show prototypes made in 1953 and 1954.

The revised edition significantly expands the gallery of models from the 1970s onwards that are now realistically available, and should also serve as a guide to finding the perfect car.

An interview about the late Makoto Ayukawa's favorite collection, including his signature guitars, and his precious customizations from 2017. The guitar photos have been updated to those taken for the memorial feature in the May 2023 issue of Guitar Magazine.

New articles have been added, including an interview with SUGIZO and his personal collection. He eloquently talks about the appeal of custom guitars, focusing on his 1969 and 1956 models, which served as a major guide for his sound creation!

This section delves deep into the popular re-released '68-'69 Customs. It provides an easy-to-understand explanation of the differences between the '68 and '69 models.

There are also many sections for enthusiasts that introduce the cases that came with the products. In addition, the book is also valuable as a resource, with information on the evolution of specifications and serial number data.
