Description
Description
The large, weighty gain switch is reminiscent of a console, covering a range of tones from crunch to distortion. It can be used in a variety of situations and positions, not only as a preamp or overdrive, but also as a booster, taking advantage of its high-power output. Its straightforward tone, stylishly crafted around an old-school British sound, is the foundation for any guitar sound, regardless of genre.
Also, use the LOW CUT knob to adjust low frequency saturation when using high gain settings.
The simple controls make it easy to find the perfect gain, volume, and tone setting.
Broadcast is a transformer-coupled, discrete, Class-A germanium preamp based on classic 1960s broadcast consoles. At low gain settings, Broadcast can cover everything from sparkling clean boost to transparent overdrive, with plenty of volume to push your amp. Broadcast features specially selected Triad steel-core transformers and germanium transistors. As you increase Broadcast's gain, the transformer and the pedal's discrete circuitry begin to saturate, producing gentle dynamic compression and a subtle midrange thickness. With the gain switch in a high setting and the trim control raised, Broadcast begins to produce a heavier distortion sound with a warm, fuzzy edge. Broadcast covers a wide range of drive and distortion tones while maintaining dynamic range and responding well to picking attack and each player's subtle nuances.
- Carefully selected germanium and silicon transistors
Specially selected TRIAD Magnetics steel core transformer
・BI Technologies potentiometer
- Highly durable Alpha foot switch (rated for over 30,000 cycles)
Individually hand-assembled on a high-quality PCB, all assembled, wired, tested and packaged by Michael Hudson.
LEVEL – Controls the overall volume of the pedal.
GAIN Switch - Selects low, medium or high gain mode.
GAIN TRIM – Controls the gain level of Broadcast. Higher settings gently roll off the high frequencies of the signal.
LOW CUT – Attenuates the low frequencies of the Broadcast. This control is located at the front end of the broadcast circuit, so it works in conjunction with the GAIN control.
Broadcast requires a DC power supply (PSU) and can operate at voltages between 9V and 24V. Running Broadcast at voltages higher than 9V increases headroom, output level, and clarity. This is ideal for bass, or when using Broadcast as a clean preamp boost.
Other types may damage your pedals. If you are sharing the same power supply unit with other pedals, we recommend using a power supply unit with independent outputs.
Power supply: 9VDC to 24VDC (center negative)
Current consumption: 20mA
