Description

An Ikebe custom model with a luxurious look, featuring a black color scheme, gold parts, and an ebony fingerboard!

The Momose PB model boasts the unique texture and sound quality that can only be achieved through "Made in Japan."

This instrument features an alder body and an ebony fingerboard, custom-made by Ikebe. The alder body's low center of gravity creates a sound with the characteristically moderate compression of ebony, and the wild yet cohesive PB sound resonates directly and is pleasant to play. While maintaining its basic structure that respects the traditional PB bass, it incorporates modern updates throughout, such as an original body shape with a wide cutaway and wood binding on the neck, elevating it to a unique style.

This instrument offers the traditional resonance and tone that Momose strives for, bringing out the richness of vintage PB basses. Furthermore, we've furthered our customization efforts with an emphasis on modern playability. Based on our core philosophy of "processing each individual wood to suit its individual characteristics, such as mass, elasticity, and resonance," we've crafted this instrument entirely by hand, pursuing the possibilities of vintage style, resulting in superior sound and playability. The body shape, with a slightly wider cutaway, allows for smooth shifting to higher positions and enhanced playability, providing a stress-free playing experience. The head shape, while retaining a classic yet striking aesthetic, is a defining feature of the brand's identity. While retaining its original design for instant setup, the rod adjustment has been redesigned for even more effortless neck adjustment. The semi-matte top lacquer creates a smooth playing feel, and the neck shape, finished with meticulous sanding, has been further refined for a comfortable grip, resulting in a comfortable playing experience.

The 210-radius fingerboard eliminates choking in the upper registers, while the medium-sized, slightly tall JESCAR FW-NS9676-NS frets (equivalent to Jim Dunlop USA #6105) ensure precise fingering. The fret tangs are covered with a wood binding of the same material as the fingerboard, providing a smoother neck grip and preventing burrs from developing under harsh conditions. The neck joint, while retaining the traditional technique of using a joint plate, also features a recessed groove and a unique heel cut for improved playability. The joint plate is also made of high-density material for optimal sound quality. The VP-1 pickup is standard equipment, highly acclaimed by many players for its bright highs and rich lows, bringing out the natural tone of the wood.
