DW's signature Collector's Series is handcrafted in Oxnard, California with passion and imagination, using the finest materials, legendary craftsmanship, and hand-applied finishes to bring drummers' dreams to life.

-Pure Purpleheart-
The shell material is made from purpleheart, a broadleaf tree in the legume family. As its name suggests, this wood has a purple hue and is characterized by its strength, durability, and relative hardness. It has a natural satin oil finish with no added color, which allows the unique, beautiful purple color of the purpleheart wood to shine through.

-VLT-
VLT (Vertical Low Timber) shells feature vertical plies arranged in a position that reduces tension, resulting in a lower pitch than standard shells, resulting in a lower-tuned sound with more sustain and attack. In VLT shells, the outermost and innermost plies are arranged vertically rather than horizontally as in the conventional shell. The straight grain reduces tension on the shell, allowing it to vibrate more freely, resulting in a lower fundamental pitch.

-Bearing Edge-
Collector's Series shells are precision-cut with 45-degree (toms) and 60-degree (bass and snare) bearing edges, providing tone and sustain on the toms and depth and punch on the bass and snare.

-Mini MAG Throw-Off & 5P (five position) butt plate-
The throw-off is equipped with a new "Mini MAG Throw-Off" that is sized to match the "Pi" and secures the switch using magnetic force.
Other options include the 3mm thick "True Hoop," which provides the open sound of a pressed hoop while also delivering a sharp attack.
Equipped with a "5P Butt Plate" that allows you to adjust the snare tension in 5 levels with just one touch.

-True-Pitch 50 Tuning Rods-
The pitch is finer than that of a typical tension rod, allowing for finer tuning.

We ship via FedEx. Shipments are fully insured against damage or loss during transit.
