Description

[Ludwig's signature all-maple shell snare! A used Classic Maple snare is now in stock!]

-Ludwig Drum Company-
The Ludwig Drum Company was founded in Chicago in 1909 by brothers Theo and William Ludwig.
They manufactured the world's first practical foot pedal, and with this success a drumming company was born.
The know-how cultivated since the company's founding is still passed down today, and the company offers a balance of tradition and innovation to meet the needs of artists around the world.

Over its century-long history, Ludwig wood snares have become popular as the drums that defined the fat backbeats and deep grooves of pop and R&B in the 1970s and 1980s.
Ludwig's most popular snare drum is the All Maple Shell. Crafted from high-quality North American maple, the shell is cross-laminated. This snare drum offers the bright, clear sound and warmth you expect from a maple drum, delivering the signature Ludwig sound.
