Description

We have a rare, used Ultracast free-floating snare drum, a 14x4.5 inch model, in stock!

This model, produced by Murakami Ponta Shuichi, incorporates the "Ultracast Snare Drum," which has been extremely popular since its release, and Pearl's original "Free Floating System."
With its unique 4.5-inch depth and Glide Lock strainer, it was equipped with the latest specifications at the time. It offered excellent response, precise tuning, and versatile tone creation. It's a masterpiece that meets the needs of multi-players.

Below is a comment from Murakami Ponta Shuichi about this snare.
Q: What are the sound characteristics of the cast aluminum shell combined with the free-floating design?
A: Anyway, the attack is really fast. And the tuning is accurate. In my case, I change the tone by muting it or not, and the difference in sound is clear.

Q: The depths are 4.5 and 5.8, which are unique like the Signature models. What is your commitment to these sizes?
A: With this lineup, the 4.5 model can perfectly cover tones from 3 to 5, and the 5.8 model can also perfectly cover tones from 5 to 6.5 and above, depending on how you tune it.

Q: Like the Signature model, the hoops on this guitar have been changed to a die-cast hoop on the top and a steel hoop on the bottom. What is the reason behind this change and what are the sound effects/characteristics?
A: I guess this is just my personal preference after trying out a lot of different snares.

Q: How do you use this snare drum in your live performances and recordings?
A: I don't particularly consciously use different pitches for live performances and studio work, but if I had to say, I do tend to raise the pitch a little for live performances.

Q: Could you also give us your thoughts on the new, non-loosening/non-falling switch?
A: I can't help but get nervous about the buzzing sound of the snare that reacts to low frequencies, especially when playing sensitive songs. That's why I have to turn the snare on and off multiple times during a song during a live performance. This new type of strainer is very easy to turn on and off, so I don't have to worry.
At first I was a bit confused by this new feature, but once I got used to it, this is the best type. I wish I could replace all my snares with this strainer.
