Description
Description
It's been about 20 years since the release of the legendary Japanese pedal compressor "R-COMP" by AYA Tokyo Japan. With the rise of digital equipment at the forefront of modern guitar/bass systems, Yuki, a pedal brand run by Makoto Kawai, the designer of "R-COMP," has released a new compressor.
When you think of a compressor, many people probably imagine it as something that evens out the volume of sounds, but the distinctive feature of the "CAW" is its driving force that pushes the sound forward. Unlike boosters that add gain or harmonics, the "pop" you hear the moment the pick hits the sound is very satisfying. The sound coming from the speakers is so close, it feels like it's right next to your ear, and the sense of realism makes it clear and comfortable to monitor while playing. The clear sound image that doesn't get lost in the mix is a convincing achievement that satisfies the production concept of passing it through the front end of a digital system.
The controls are simple: just two knobs, "Comp" and "Vol," and a "Touch Feel" mini-switch that lets you fine-tune the picking response. This intuitive operation directly reflects the player's intuition, making it easy for anyone to use.
The new compressor is designed to address the needs of today's players who feel a sense of "something missing" during the sound creation process.
